A working meeting was held between President of the International Organisation for Eurasian Cooperation (IOEC) Dmitry Stasyulis, Adviser to the Chairman of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Doctor of Political Sciences Farit Mukhametshin, and President of the Centre of Information and Arabian-Russian Studies (CIARS) in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, DrMajed Abdulaziz Al-Turki.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation among the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, the IOEC and CIARS at the expert level, with a view to advancing, in practical terms, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin’s initiative to establish the Greater Eurasian Partnership.
Dr Majed Al-Turki spoke highly of the potential of the Russian initiative for the further development of Russia–Saudi Arabia relations — both at the political level and through business and public circles.
Cooperation among CIARS, the Strategic Vision Group and the IOEC, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, can provide additional impetus to the growth of bilateral trade, the expansion of direct business contacts and the implementation of joint Russia–Saudi projects.
Particular attention was paid to preparing a special issue of “Eurasian Dialogue” magazine marking the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The centenary is being celebrated in 2026.
