Development of Russian-Saudi Cooperation in the Agricultural Sector

June 5, 2026. On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Dmitry V. Stasyulis, President of the International Organisation for Eurasian Cooperation, held a working meeting with Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Sheikhi, Advisor to the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the parties highly assessed the potential for developing Russian-Saudi relations in the agro-industrial sector, including agricultural production, livestock farming, fisheries, as well as the production and supply of agricultural fertilisers.

Particular attention was paid to the opportunities for building systematic business cooperation through the IOEC International Business Centre, which serves as a practical mechanism for developing joint projects, exchanging expertise, and strengthening direct contacts between Russian and Saudi business communities.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to sign an agreement on interaction and cooperation, which will create a foundation for further deepening the partnership and implementing joint initiatives in the agricultural sector.

The IOEC delegation continues its work on the sidelines of the Forum, advancing international dialogue and strengthening partnerships with representatives of Greater Eurasia and the Global South.
