On July 31, a meeting of the Civil Twenty (C20), the official G20 interaction group, was held via videoconference.
The meeting was attended by Russia's Sherpa in the C20, President of the International Union of European Societies, Editor-in-Chief of the Eurasian Dialogue magazine Dmitry Stasyulis, South Africa's Sherpa in the C20, Mr. Mabalane Mfundisi, and coordinators and co-coordinators of the C20 working groups from other countries.
The purpose of the meeting was to work on the final C20 memorandum, which will be handed over to the leaders of the G20 in November at the summit in Johannesburg.
Dmitry Stasyulis, as co-coordinator of the Trade, Financial Architecture and Sustainable Development group, made a number of proposals to the final C20 Memorandum, including: reform of the WTO, IMF and World Bank, abandonment of the policy of unilateral sanctions, development of the Greater Eurasian Partnership, respect for the traditions and cultural and historical characteristics of different countries, protection of traditional and family values, preservation of historical memory and prevention of the glorification of Nazism.
